One of our mandates has always been to try to reuse whatever we can, be it soil, sod, rocks or even equipment. With almost every project we do, there is sod that is stripped off and if it is not reused at the time, it is dumped in a sort of compost pile until we can reuse it later. We use a rototiller and tractor to mulch up the old sod until we have a beautiful pile of topsoil, maybe 60 tons ready for use elsewhere on the course. This week we are using the soil as backfill for the #2 curbing project.
